Reading Class: Students will start the novel, Where the Red Fern Grows next week. Goals include describing how the plot unfolds, and analyzing how a scene fits into the overall structure of the text. Please ensure your child reads AR at home for 15-20 minutes each night. AR Goal for the 9 weeks is 19.5. Spelling words for the week of Aug. 20-24: behavior, maintain, display, clean, freight, escape, season, chimpanzee, receive, achieve, velocity, migrate, bright, reply, prize. These words all have long vowel sounds. Test on Friday.
